Time to Landscape

Now that the construction debris is behind us we can get the yard back in shape. Matt and the kids unloaded two trucks full of bark and filled in the flower beds.
What a difference it makes! Even though we haven't planted flowers (and probably won't this year) the dark bark looks really good against the green lawn and makes everything look really finished! Our tomatoes are doing great! We got four plants from Costco which are huge and have blossoms on them. The rest are doing well but are just smaller. The rest of the garden isn't so great. The zucchini, yellow squash and cucumbers are struggling. The herbs and the peppers are holding their own....

Go Away!

When I saw this sign, I knew it would be perfect for the front entry of the house. I got it for Matt for Father's Day. Whenever he's in town, we definitely have to have the "Go Away" side showing!

Enjoying the deck

I was afraid Missy would try to jump off the edge of the deck since the railing isn't up yet but it hasn't been a problem. She's content to just lay on the corner in the sun.

Starting on the deck

Dan and Nate are finally back to work on the deck. They were delayed by the rain we've had.
We chose Trex for the base and stairs in a dark brown color. It looks really great against the light tan of the stucco. Missy enjoys being out in the yard with them and watching them work. She was especially happy when Dan finished the stairs so she could finally go down onto the grass!

Our new Priesthood Holder

We are so proud of Austin! He turned 12 on May 23rd and was ordained a Deacon in the Aaronic Priesthood by his dad on May 25th. He looks awesome in his suit and does a great job helping to pass the sacrament on Sundays. Collecting Fast Offerings is another story....

The addition of STONE!

Well despite the weather delays, we finally have the stone on the house. It is called Chardonnay Drystack Ledgestone. It has both tans and greys in it. I think it was a really good choice!

Congratulations Goose!

Our nephew Goose graduated from Orem High then end of May. I am especially proud since I was an Orem High Tiger about a million years ago! His was the last graduating class before the school undergoes a MAJOR remodel (which has already been started.)

Goose was a key member of the baseball and basketball teams and will be playing baseball for UVU (Utah Valley University) this fall. We are proud of you Goose!
